Nüüdses filmis käivitab sündmustiku noor teadlane (James Franco), kelle tegevuse tagajärjel teevad ahvid revolutsiooni.
Selle filmi eriefektid valmisid «Avatarile» ja «Sõrmuste isandale» kuulust toonud efektide meistrite käe all. Asjatundjate sõnul on «Ahvide planeedi sünnis» aga taas uus lehekülg keeratud.
Kinodesse jõuab see linateos 5. augustil.
